Meet Maxx! Maxx eats kibble. The worst kind ever - from the big yellow bag. BUT I am stuck and do not know which way to turn. I know the benefits of feeding RAW, but my vet spoke against a RAW food diet. I tried giving Maxx raw chicken liver. Meaning he spit it out and ignored the liver. When I dehydrated the same chicken liver he gobbled it up and wanted more.
The easiest way to add raw food to my dog’s existing diet is to add freeze dried or dehydrated raw food. This is the best transition so far that I’m able to implement easy. I give raw food as a treat to transition Maxx’s tastebuds to a RAW diet. My plan is to add more raw food, in it’s raw, stinky, squishy original form. His favorite raw food to date are sardines or salmon. This fishy treat, gives him a shiny coat and help to support his allergy issues. I am looking forward to sharing Maxx’s journey to a raw food diet. Please check back for more stories.
